5 Gym Workouts You Can Do While You’re Working from Home

Since going out of the house is no longer an option (unless you absolutely have to), you have more time to focus on yourself and your habits. If you’ve been putting off exercising because you didn’t have the time before, then now’s your chance to start working out while you’re stuck at home.

Not sure how to start? Here are some easy workouts you can do at home!

Yoga

Even if you don’t have any prior experience, starting yoga at home is possible. There are apps and Youtube channels out there that can teach you the basics, so get yourself a yoga mat to begin your journey of becoming a yogi. This mat from Reebok has a non-slip texture so you don’t have to worry about slipping while doing your yoga poses.

Pull ups

For something a bit more specific, pull ups are a great way to strengthen your upper body. Even though this is just one workout, pull ups work up so much muscles at once — your biceps, triceps, forearms, wrists, grip strength, lats, shoulders, and your core! Get yourself started with this adjustable doorway pull up bar.

Footwork Drills

If you want a fat-burning workout, then footwork drills should do the work. Start by buying an agility ladder and then work your way from there. Some footwork drills include high knee kicks, hops, broad jumps, fast feet, runs, plank walks, and more!

Ab Wheel Exercise

For those who want to have six-pack abs, using an ab wheel is more effective than doing the usual sit ups. Simply kneel on the floor while holding the handles of the ab wheel in front of you, and then roll forwards and backwards to contract your abs.

Banded Walks

Another handy workout-related item is the resistance band. If you want to work out your legs in a number of ways, using a resistance band will. Step inside the resistance band and put them around your ankles, knees, or thighs — depending on which part you want to work on. With your feet hip-width apart and your knees bent, walk around and feel the band give your muscles some resistance.

Don’t be a slug! Get a couple of drills in between your tasks to ensure that you still hit your fitness goals for 2020.
