It’s a world where practicality and convenience matters. It’s a generation where almost anything can be done through a phone or a laptop. More especially at this time where the country is stricken with the global pandemic, it’s always better to stay at home and avoid long queues and social interaction. It’s just right to do things online.
To keep up with times, and for health and safety reasons, here are some services that you can avail online:
PAG-IBIG Housing Loan
Acknowledging the growing need of houses as the population increases, PAGIBIG launched their online facility for housing loan applications.
Note that only members with membership ID and Registration Tracking Number can use the facility. Below is the link of the said facility.
Although it seemed like a lifetime ago, the country was alarmed by the sudden “explosive eruption” of the Taal Volcano earlier this year. With that in mind, it’s just right to have a website providing real time updates on natural phenomena. PHIVOLCS launched their program that provide updates on Volcanic Eruptions, Earthquakes, Tsunami and other related Geotectonic Phenomena
Balik Probinsya Program Application
If there’s any silver lining brought by the pandemic, it’s that it made everyone aware that the NCR is too crowded and life outside the Metro could be better. With the Balik Probinsya Bagong Pag-asa program, informal settlers and even those leasing in Metro Manila are given the chance to go back to their hometown where the government will assist them in the transition.

Business Name Registration
The BIR announced that they would be requiring all online sellers to file their taxes. But are you aware that BIR application has prerequisites? This includes registering the business through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Their online program has long been available and used by many.

LTMS – LTO
The LTO relaunched the Personal Appointment and Scheduling System (PASS) for the public to create their own online appointment for renewal of driver’s license and vehicle registration.
PASS works like the queuing system of the DFA wherein a client can make an appointment at an available slot. It is expected to be beneficial both for the client and the LTO in managing inflow on site for a more efficient and modernized service.

Tax Filing Services
The period of filing annual taxes have lapsed already. As a business owner or an accountant, it’s normal to feel stressed every April, as it is the deadline for submission of Income Tax Returns. Thankfully, there are web based and app based programs available online.
JuanTax is a tax-filing platform that can be accessed both through the web or an app. It was the first to be recognized by the BIR as early as 2008. The main goal of the program is simplifying and automating tax compliance through technology.

Taxumo is one of the most famous online tax-filing platforms in the Philippines. It only requires input of income and expenses and it will do the rest. Tax dues will be computed and charges will be done monthly. Payments are also done online through their accredited payment channels.

Moneygment works the same way as the previous two. The difference is that it provides processing of SSS, PAGIBIG and Philhealth payments. It also helps in paying Real Property Tax and basic utilities such as electricity, water, and phone bills.
COVID ASK FORCE
The COVID ASK FORCE was launched during the first announcement of Enhanced Community Quarantine around late March. It is a free 24/7 telemedicine service provider that answers questions about COVID-19. Facilitated by the Lung Center of the Philippines, the goal is to help at least 1,000 patients every day, to limit the people going to hospitals. Consultation is done through Facebook Messenger. www.facebook.com/COVIDAskForce
There are other telemedicine providers that offer free consultation. This includes Taguig City Telemedicine, Association of Medical Doctors in Asia, and MD Link Health Care.
These online platforms should be patronized and supported. It’s a big help not only during this pandemic, but it also eases the life of many. PWDs, senior citizens, and those working for a fixed time eight hours a day should all benefit from it. Having an online option should always be encouraged.
