SM Cinema first brought the drive-in theater experience to filmgoers in Pampanga; now, they bring this new normal to the film-loving folks of Metro Manila.
On September 9, Mall of Asia will finally open its concert grounds as the site of the metro’s first drive-in theater and will feature recently released films: Peninsula, the follow-up to the hit South Korean zombie flick Train to Busan, and Unhinged, an action-packed American thriller film starring Russell Crowe.
Just like its pioneer from Pampanga, this drive-in theater also projects the films on a huge screen raised above the ground, and then broadcasts the audio to the cars’ FM radios set to a specific frequency. As SM Pampanga has been able to accommodate 90 vehicles, MOA’s large venue should be able to let in at most 106 vehicles per screening.
They share the same rules too. SM Cinema advises moviegoers to purchase their tickets before their desired screening, which are priced per head, not per vehicle. There will only be one screening per day, which will start at exactly nd t6:45PM. For other concerns, refer to this Frequently Asked Question note provided by SM Cinemas:
