Australian vlogger Alex Hirschi, better known as Supercar Blondie online, surprised her loyal Filipina employee with enough money to cover her son’s college tuition fee.
In her vlog that has now become viral, Hirschi setup a fake documentary but little did Avelina, the Filipina employee, knew that that particular day was dedicated for her.
“Look at this guys, this is an entire college fund for a very special employee of mine. She thinks we’re filming a documentary, so all my employees are going to come through this door for their ‘interviews,’ but that’s all for show. It’s actually all about her and this surprise,” she said.
Avelina has been working for Hirschi for two and a half years in Dubai and it has been three years since she saw her family in the Philippines.
“I just want to say she means so much to me. I couldn’t do what I do today without her… She does everything, she runs around town doing errands, she does the PA and admin work, she even cleans the office and she makes food for us all she even takes care of our dogs when we travel so she is so integral to the Supercar Blondie family,” Hirschi said.
While getting interviewed in the fake documentary, Hirschi surprised her with a bouquet of flowers and handed her the money for her son’s college fund. As Avelina held back her tears, she thanked them and quipped, “I’m a millionaire sir?”
Avelina thought she was being sent back home and the vlogger joked, “If you leave me, I’m taking this (money) back!”
As they laughed around, Hirschi then said, “You’ve had to leave your family behind and work with us in order to earn money and take it back to your family, so we just wanted to help you out a little bit. But don’t leave us. I need you, okay?”
