The Commision on Elections (COMELEC) resumed voting registration last January 4 and you still have a lot of time to register before its deadline on September 20!
COMELEC spokesperson James Jimenez encouraged citizens to register for the upcoming 2022 elections.
We get that when it comes to filing papers, it feels like such a hassle but don’t fret for you can register to vote in just 3 easy steps! First, download necessary documents here, set an appointment, and go to the COMELEC office with your documents, face mask and face shield!

Step 1. Check your eligibility
Those who are eligible for voting should be a Filipino citizen, 18 years old on or before the election day which will be on May 9, 2022. You should also be a resident in the country for at least a year and if you’re planning to vote in a certain city or town, you should at least resided in the said place for 6 months or more.
Step 2. Check your COMELEC office and book an appointment
Run a quick search of your designated COMELEC office and book an appointment at least a week before your desired date for registration. You will need to go to the office personally to undergo biometrics capturing. Don’t forget to download all the forms necessary and bring it on the day of your appointment.
Step 3. Appear at the COMELEC office with your documents
After setting an appointment, don’t forget to photocopy one valid government-issued ID, bring your documents, own ballpen, sanitizer, face shield, and face mask.
Steo 4. Have your biometrics taken
After an officer verify your application, you will now undergo biometrics capturing, and you will receive a stub from them acknowledging your application.
