Since the early 90s, Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt have been household names because of their Hollywood fame. They’ve been in numerous iconic films everyone has come to know and love. Would you believe that the two Academy Award-winning actors have never shared the silver screen together? Yes, for the first time ever, America’s sweetheart is teaming up with Pitt for an action flick called Bullet Train.
Bullock and Pitt aren’t the only famous names tied to the movie. According to Deadline.com, Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Masi Oka, and Andrew Koji are set to join the cast. Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch will direct and also supervise the script, which will be written by Zak Olkewicz.
The film is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by bestselling author Kotaro Isaka. As per Vulture.com, the story follows “a group of hitmen and assassins with conflicting motives” on, you guessed it, a bullet train to Tokyo.
Before this project, the closest tie both stars have had was when Bullock starred in the female-led heist movie Ocean’s Eight, which was a movie franchise Pitt helped launch when he played Rusty Ryan in 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven.
Because of both stars’ global superstardom, they’ve been pickier with acting projects in recent years. Bullock last starred in Netflix’s 2018 thriller hit Bird Box, while Pitt was last seen in 2019’s Ad Astra and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which earned him his first acting Oscar award.
Knowing how Bullock and Pitt have been carefully cherry-picking their projects lately, Bullet Train will surely be a fantastic movie that would make you wish that it’s safe to go watch films in the theatre again.
