Bandai has captured the hearts of OG Yu-Gi-Oh fans around the world with their recent announcement to release an official Yu-Gi-Oh Millennium Puzzle kit.
The toy maker giant is planning to come out with a 33-piece Millennium Puzzle model courtesy of Ultimagear, its new brand of toy models. True to the heart of the show, it will come with no instruction manual, proving to be a novel challenge for genuine Yu-Gi-Oh fans.
Those willing to take on the challenge will encounter a cut-and-snap type puzzle that, once fully assembled, will stand at four inches in height and display the Eye of Anubis at its face.
A loop will be present at the very top of the puzzle, allowing any accomplished contender to hang it around their neck and channel their inner “Dark” Yugi. While it took the original Yugi Muto eight years to piece together the impossible puzzle, fans will probably have a less difficult time figuring it out.
It is currently priced at ¥3,850, or around $35 to $36 (Php1,749), without shipping and handling. Get ready to mark your calendars though, because it’s set to release in Japan sometime in August 2021.
The puzzle will first be available in anime and hobby shops and hopefully be ready for international shipping in the future.
In the original show, the Millennium Puzzle was deemed to be the most powerful of seven ancient relics dating back to the ancient Egyptians. It allowed the solver to participate in the Shadow Games and granted them a variety of magic to use against challengers.
Yugi Muto, the solver of the puzzle and the protagonist of the show, was able to harness its powers against other wearers of Millennium items.
For now, keep an eye out for the puzzle this August and wait for announcements on international shipping! Presently, it seems that it will only be available in Japan.
