Loki is back, and in the latest trailer for Marvel’s upcoming original series, the God of Mischief must undo all the time-bending troubles that he caused.
On Monday, Marvel dropped the latest trailer for Loki, one that gives us a closer glimpse at the events following the villain-turned-hero’s swift springing with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame.
For breaking the natural law of time, a time-variant Loki faces the bureaucratic TVA, or Time Variance Authority, who “protects the proper flow of time,” and who forces the Asgardian god to correct his misdeed of “breaking reality.”
Watch the latest trailer here:
Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as the trickster Loki and is joined by Owen Wilson (Midnight in Paris) who plays TVA’s Mobius, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beauty and the Beast) who upholds TVA’s laws as Judge Renslayer. Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant will also join the fray.
Judging Loki’s actions, we’re betting his crime of “breaking reality” means that characters across several broken timelines have run amuck. Could Loki’s reparations also entail crossing paths with a certain Doctor Strange who’s supposed to open up the “multi-verse of madness”?
Regardless of where Loki ends up, this only means loads of action-packed adventures for us! So much, in fact, that a second season is reportedly already in the works, ahead of the maiden season’s premiere.
The six-episode series premieres on Disney Plus on June 11.
