Avengers Campus to Open in June at Disneyland California Adventure

Heads up, Avengers fans! Disney has an official release date for the newly finished Avengers Camp in Anaheim’s Disneyland California Adventure.

The attraction, which was slated to open last July but suffered a delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, is set to open to parkgoers on June 4, 2021.

Hardcore Avengers enthusiasts can expect a new 3-D Spider-Man ride, an Ant-Man and the Wasp-themed dining location called Pym Particles Test Kitchen, and an area that revolves around Dr. Strange.

Marvel staples like Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Black Panther, Loki and a slew of others will also be making appearances throughout the park for character meet-and-greets. Guests may also frequent special gift shop Campus Supply Pod for official Avengers Campus gear and Funko Pop! Marvel figurines.

The park has taken over the A Bug’s Land area and includes the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout ride, formerly the Tower of Terror ride.

Keep a watch out for the curtain-reveal on Disney’s long-term tech and innovation project – stuntronics. The tech features a robot that can perform acrobatics or stunts similar to that of a real person.

Guests just might be able to see an animatronic Spider-Man swinging through Marvel Land.

Sadly, enthusiastic inter-state and international visitors may not be able to see the fun new addition; Disneyland will reopen on April 30 to California residents only.

The park will reportedly operate at 15% capacity and implement social distancing and temperature checks, and will continue with cashless payment and other tech innovations to lessen the spread of COVID-19.

This comes after the park’s closure in March 2020, which led to the lay-off of thousands of employees and a reduction of revenue of about 53% for the company. In a meeting with investors in February, Disney reported to have lost around $2.6 billion in its park division.
