It’s not just our candidate, Rabiya Mateo, who’s raising the Philippine flag in the Miss Universe stage this year.
Jojo Bragais, a Filipino designer who hails from Albay, Bicol, was chosen as the official footwear sponsor for Miss Universe 2020. The pairs of shoes designed by Jojo and crafted by Filipino shoemakers in Binangonan, Rizal will be worn by the 70 plus delegates this year!
Miss Universe made the announcement through a Facebook post that featured one of Jojo’s designs. “All of our delegates walk with purpose, strength, and in their own unique stride. Presenting the official footwear sponsor of the 69th MISS UNIVERSE competition: Jojo Bragais, who empowers women to ‘Walk. Win,'” the post said.
Bragais Shoes also shared about this partnership on their social media pages: “As each of the contestants brings with them the learnings from their own winning journeys, we are confident that Jojo Bragais can help them walk closer towards their rightful places in the universe,” they said.
The local shoe brand also highlighted the qualities that make their creations truly exceptional. “Jojo Bragais is a world-class Filipino brand that understands how walks in life can make or break one’s ability to win. For that reason, it has always designed its shoes to be uncompromising in style, comfort, and quality.”
Jojo’s work has already graced the Miss Universe stage in the past, having designed the boots worn by Catriona Gray with her national costume in 2018. He also designed the shoes worn by Samantha Bernardo in the recently concluded Miss Grand International 2020 pageant.
“The brand has been worn by winning queens in some of the most important runways around the world,” Bragais Shoes said.
Jojo and his beautifully designed creations definitely deserve this recognition! We’re so excited to see the Miss Universe 2020 delegates walk in Bragais Shoes.
