Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo is ready to flaunt her wardrobe that showcases the talent of many Filipino fashion designers. The 24-year-old beauty queen is already in the USA to prepare for the Miss Universe 2020 pageant happening on May 16, 2021. And with her, she brought Filipino-made outfits created by not just 10, 20, or 50, but over 100 designers!
One of Rabiya’s stylists, Rain Dagala, said, “Super happy raw siya because we were able to achieve getting in touch with designers nationwide. [We also] tapped fresh graduates from Davao, Iloilo, La Union, and Dagupan. Hindi siya palakasan, it’s a matter of what you can bring to the table… it’s a collaboration [between] us and the designers.”
Rabiya and her stylists have been showing her beautifully designed outfits on Instagram, starting with a modern barong with handmade pearl and crystal embellishments. Chino Cristopherson and Marc Rancy worked on her outfit, which was accessorized with LVNA By Drake Dustin earrings.
This outfit was followed by a teal pantsuit with Filipiniana sleeve details designed by Marlon Tuazon. It also has magnificent details such as trimmings with pearls and seashells!
Rabiya’s third look consists of a pink dress with puffed sleeves designed by Veejay Floresca, statement earrings by Christopher Munar, and an embellished handbag by Vesti.
For her next outfits, she wore a draped blue gown by Marc Rancy, a red tube top by Zyrill Jacinto paired with red trousers by Franko Barrio, and a lace dress by Mikee Andrei.
Rabiya also shared glamorous photos of herself in outfits made by designer Mara Chua—a brown animal print dress and a maroon dress inspired by the Greek goddess Athena.
Aside from her beauty and eye-catching outfits, Rabiya’s team has full faith in her because of her confidence and intellect. Em Millan, also one of Rabiya’s stylists, said, “Her intelligence is really gonna bring us the crown. [It’s] not just the part; she [really] uses her brain and [knows] how to allocate her time.”
Good luck, Queen Rabiya! May you bring back the crown to the Philippines.
