Magic – that’s what Bruno Mars is!

It’s hard to imagine a world where a person hasn’t suffered from Last Song Syndrome to any song sung by Bruno Mars. Now, singing more than a dozen chart-topping songs for more than a decade seems to have finally paid off for the funk legend, as he is now the first and only artist in the history of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to earn five Diamond Single Awards.

The news was announced by RIAA itself through a tweet on Saturday, which Mars was more than happy to dedicate to his “Hooligans.”

According to the RIAA, a Diamond certification is bestowed to any musical recording, physical or digital, that has sold at least 10,000,000 units. For an album to be diamond-certified, it must have sold at least 10 songs from its tracklisting.

According to Complex, Mars reached the milestone achievement by having five of his top-selling singles hit the ten-million mark: 2010’s “Just the Way You Are which is 12-times Platinum, 2012’s “When I Was Your Man and 2014’s “Uptown Funk! which are both 11-times Platinum, and 2010’s “Grenade” and 2016’s “That’s What I Like” both boasting a 10-times Platinum sales.

“This milestone is a testament to Bruno’s unstoppable creative genius and the incredible partnership he has built with the team at Atlantic Records,’ Mitch Glazier, Chairman and CEO of RIAA, said in a statement.

“What Bruno has accomplished is just extraordinary. Fewer than 60 Diamond Single Awards have ever been awarded – and Bruno now has five of them!” he added.

Following RIAA’s triumphant announcement, Anderson .Paak, Mars’ other half in Silk Sonic, celebrated with the R&B icon by tweeting a clip from the duo’s hit track “Leave the Door Open.” The cheery anthem has managed to stay put on the BillBoard Hot 100 chart’s top spot for the second week.

Five isn’t even half of the Bruno Mars songs we’ve sung in the bathroom. Congratulations, King!
