Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor in one movie? We’d love to see it!
These stars from “Riverdale” and “To All the Boys” will be starring together in the upcoming HBO Max romantic comedy movie “Moonshot.” This film with a sci-fi twist will feature characters heading to mars after their loved ones left our planet. “Moonshot is set in a future where Mars is terraformed and colonized by the best humanity has to offer. Two very different college students wind up joining forces and sneak onboard a space shuttle to the red planet in order to be united with their significant others,” The Hollywood Reporter said.
Lana’s part in the film has already been announced last year, while Cole’s was only recently revealed and not yet specified. The Hollywood Reporter describes Lana’s character Sophie as “a woman with a plan—or at least, she was before her boyfriend Calvin moved to Mars, and she decided to go after him.”
“Riverdale” executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will be joining the film as producers alongside Jill McElroy and Jenna Sarkin, while Chris Winterbauer of the coming-of-age movie “Wyrm” will be the director.
Cole expressed his excitement about the film through an Instagram post (which has now been removed.) “I’m the last person you want to be trapped on a spacecraft with. The timeless [Lana Condor] and I are making a movie on mars… or at least Atlanta. Very excited to be working with [Christopher Winterbauer, Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti, and HBO Max],” Cole said.
Meanwhile, Lana shared a tweet from Deadline that confirmed Cole’s participation in the movie. “Let’s goooo,” she tweeted, adding a rocket emoji and multiple exclamation marks.
There’s no word on the release date yet but we’re already so excited for this!
