Cody Simpson opened up about his break-up with Miley Cyrus in a recent episode of the television show “60 Minutes Australia.” “Everything ended fairly amicably. It was just one of those phases I guess you go through and you learn a lot from it,” he said.
Cody and Miley were first linked in October 2019 and went their separate ways in August 2020.
In an Instagram live video, Miley said they broke up because they were “individually just working on ourselves, becoming the people that we want to be. Like everybody else at this age, we’re just deciding who we want to be with our lives, what we want to do with our lives.” Meanwhile, Cody has not spoken up about their split before.
When Cody finally broke his silence, he said that there’s no bad blood between the two of them. “I’d known her for a long time at that point… We went from kind of being good friends and just having a lot of the same friends to being together for a while,” he said.
Miley also said that she’s been friends with Cody for a long time, and it will remain that way even though they’re no longer together. “Don’t make it some drama story if next week we hang out and we’re getting pizza. We’ve been friends for 10 years, and we’re going to continue to be friends. Just don’t make it something that it is not,” she said.
