With the ongoing inoculation of the COVID-19 vaccine for those under A category, you might be wondering: when will those under category B get vaccinated? Well, according to the Department of Health (DOH), said the steadiness of the COVID-19 vaccine supply could be determined by next month to assess when the vaccination for individuals under B category will start.

With that said, the inoculation for those under B category such as teachers, social workers, other government and essential workers could begin in August. “It depends on the supply of vaccines. Alam naman natin ‘yung ating estado when it comes to vaccine supply kaya tayo ay nag ga-gradual ng expansion ngayon kung napapansin ninyo (We know the state of our vaccine supply, that’s why we gradually expand our vaccination rollout.),” DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said, according to GMA News Online.

“As to expanding as to the sectors B and C, malalaman natin ‘yan sa paglipas ng panahon. Maybe in July we can see how stable our supplies are and we can already determine kung puwede na natin ding umpisahan sila kasabay ng ibang sector na ginagawa na natin ngayon (As to expanding as to the sectors B and C, we will know that soon. Maybe in July we can see how stable our supplies are and we can already determine if we can already vaccinate those from other sectors.),” she added.

As of now, the government is inoculating people under the A4 category who are estimated at 35 million. Those under A4 category are workers who are physically required to go on site for their job whether they are from the government, private, informal and even household sector.

So it’s just a matter of time before people get vaccinated. If you’re wondering as to when you can get vaccinated yourself, here’s a “queue calculator” that can give you a rough estimate.
