Jake Gyllenhaal better steer clear of these pre-Christmas bops.

Ever since Taylor Swift re-released 2008’s Fearless, fans have speculated that the songstress would return to the recording booth to revamp 1989 next. But Swifties were in for a huge surprise as the 11-time Grammy winner announced on her Instagram that she would actually be delighting the world with a do-over of 2012’s Red, setting November 19 as its imminent release date.

On her social media, Swift reminded her fans of the emotion that went into writing the tracks on Red, and emphasized that the album’s second iteration is for all the heartbroken but healing listeners out there.

“Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person. It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end,” Swift wrote, reminiscing about her first foray into true pop. “Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past. Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators.

“And I’m not sure if it was pouring my thoughts into this album, hearing thousands of your voices sing the lyrics back to me in passionate solidarity, or if it was simply time, but something was healed along the way.”

Similar to Fearless (Taylor’s Version), this reissue of Red is going to dig deep into Swift’s arsenal as it packs all 30 songs that were originally meant for the album. Swift even spoiled fans with an added track that’s “even ten minutes long” – just enough for a good cry during the workweek.

We’re certain 1989 will have its time in the sun once again, but for now, let’s save our energy for that heart-rending pre-holiday vibe we’re all heading to.
