After a swirl of speculation regarding the eventual ceremony, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, the musical couple who met each other as coaches on the reality singing competition “The Voice,” has officially tied the knot last July 5 in a private ranch wedding.
Taking place in Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, inside a chapel that the country singer built himself for Stefani, the intimate nuptials only invited 40 guests to keep things hush-hush. The list only included Shelton and Stefani’s closest relatives and friends; Stefani’s three sons, Kingston, 15, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 7, whom she shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, and her parents, Dennis and Patty, were all confirmed for the event.
Adam Levine, their long-time fellow coach on “The Voice” reportedly skipped the event as he was vacationing in Miami, while “The Voice” host Carson Daly officiated the wedding which he called “a perfect blend of country and glamour.”
And those are perhaps the most perfect words to describe the event, as seen on Stefani’s reels which she posted on Instagram right after that weekend. On Monday, July 5, the “Nobody But You” singer put up a gallery on social media that gave a glimpse into the wedding, starting with a boomerang clip of Stefani wearing a robe and flipping her wedding veil that’s adorned with a white bow.
Other snapshots include the newlyweds posing beneath a brilliant twilight, with Stefani flaunting her Vera Wang wedding dress in a dreamy couple shot. Other highlights showed Stefani and Shelton posing with her three kids, and another with Daly as Stefani clutches the bouquet.
For the ceremony, Stefani donned a custom-made lily-white gown with a plunging neckline and a cut-away back, as described by designer Vera Wang herself. It’s accompanied by a dainty chapel-length veil which presented the hand-embroidered names of “Blake” and “Gwen” as well as the names of Stefani’s children which ran down the veil and are flanked by two white roses right by the hem.
Changing outfits for the reception, Stefani then stepped into another Vera Wang creation: a lily-white, Italian silk crepe strapless mini-dress with matching white fishnet stockings and ivory cowboy boots, an ensemble she proudly showed off on her Instagram.
The couple first connected on the set of “The Voice” back in 2015, and then quickly moved towards forming a friendship built over their high-profile divorces. Shelton, 45, filed for divorce from his second wife Miranda Lambert back in July 2015, while Stefani, 51, called it quits with Gavin Rossdale mere weeks later, ending their 13-year marriage.
The pair announced their engagement in October 2020 through social media, with Shelton quietly proposing to Stefani an enormous six to nine-carat round solitaire diamond set.
Cheers to the newlyweds!
