It’s hard to think that Sex and the City ended in 2004 considering the mark it’s left on the entirety of pop culture. But since we love New York City’s friskiest foursome so much, its home cable network HBO has blessed us with a sequel: And Just Like That…the highly-anticipated revival of the Emmy-winning romantic comedy-drama show.

On Saturday, the US streaming service HBO Max unveiled the first official image from the renewed franchise on Instagram. The first-look photo features original cast members Sarah Jessica Parker reprising the role of Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York – and dare we say, they still look as ravishing as when the series first came out!

“And just like that… we’re back,” HBO Max’s caption read.

In the spinoff series, Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte all carry over their woes over love, life, and friendship to their 50s. This time around, their common journey together will undoubtedly be filled with more drama than it did when their squad was strutting the streets of New York in their 30s.

With the release of the photo came the news that production on the show has now commenced in the Big Apple. People have also picked up a few photos from the show’s first days of shooting, and by the looks of it, there is no love lost among the three women on set.

Unfortunately, Variety reports that Kim Cattrall will not be stepping back on set as Samantha Jones, and HBO has yet to preview their plans for the character. Speaking of the rest of the cast, the 10-episode series will also see the return of Chris NothMario CantoneDavid EigenbergWillie Garsonand Evan Handler, all reprising their original roles. Grey’s Anatomy alumna Sara Ramírez is also set to join the ensemble.

Apart from starring in the show, Parker, Davis, and Nixon are also onboard as executive producers alongside Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky, John Melfi, and Michael Patrick King.

Created for television by Darren Star and based on a novel of the same name by Candace Bushnell, the original Sex and the City series ran for six seasons on HBO from 1998 to 2004. In that period, it has managed to round up several awards, including seven of its 54 Emmy Award nominations, eight of its 24 Golden Globe Award nominations, and three of its 11 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.

The series also spawned two feature films – 2008’s Sex and the City and 2010’s Sex and the City 2 – and a prequel television series by CW called The Carrie Diaries, which starred AnnaSophia Robb and ran for two seasons.
