As the pandemic continues to batter businesses worldwide, it claims the life of another long-time favorite. This week, local comic book store and hobby center Comic Quest announced on their Facebook page that, due to the continued pressure and global disruption in distribution, they would be ceasing operations permanently.

As soon as they put up the announcement, the comment section was flooded with forlorn messages of support from loyal patrons. Stories poured in of how Comic Quest provided them with not only rare comic book finds, but also treasured pastimes and proud collections. The store even sponsors film screenings from time to time, gathering hardcore fans for a shared passion.

From their first outlet in BF Homes at Alabang in 1986, they eventually expanded to Makati, Greenhills, SM Megamall, and even touched base as far as SM Cebu.

However, with the announcement came a bittersweet event: Starting September 16, Comic Quest is organizing a huge special farewell sale in their branch in SM Megamall, with all prices slashed by at least 50%. This will run until October, so you have plenty of time to support the brand one last time, while also reminiscing about their glory days.

“While our time in this wonderful industry comes to an end, we’re wishing you many more years of happy collecting! And in the words of the great Stan Lee – Excelsior!”
