Apple Music Is The Super Bowl Halftime Show’s Official Sponsor

Spotify has been real quiet since the news broke out.

The NFL announced that Apple signed a multi-year contract as its official sponsor. Through this deal, Apple Music will be replacing the previous longtime sponsor, Pepsi.

The Halftime Show happens as NFL stops the game during halftime. The teams use this time to meet in their respective locker rooms to plan. While strategizing, artists entertain the audience by performing for them on the field.

The halftime show last February was a 15-minute-long expensive performance. It featured some of the country’s most popular musical acts. The year’s halftime was also one of the most watched yearly performances in the U.S.

As part of a 10-year sponsorship agreement, Pepsi sponsored the event in 2012. The NFL displayed the Pepsi logo in the feed during the halftime performances. According to reports, the contract’s projected value at the time the NFL and Pepsi signed it was $2.3 billion.

Super Bowl 57 will be the first year of the NFL and Apple Music deal. The NFL announced that Glendale, Arizona, would host the football event. The league has yet to promote the artists performing at the Big Game.

In recent years, Apple has worked to increase the number of subscription services it offers. This includes music, news, TV, and other services.

The tech giant has also been making significant investments in sports. Apple said in June that it had reached a 10-year agreement with Major League Soccer worth at least $2.5 billion. The contract states that the company would air the league’s matches on Apple TV+.
