Seasoned TV host Ellen DeGeneres thanked the pope on Twitter.

“Thank you, Pope Francis, for seeing love for what it is,” DeGeneres wrote.

Kerry Washington, who stars as Olivia Pope in the series Scandal, said: “From one Pope to another. (clapping emojis)”

Comedian Vice Ganda reacted to the Pope’s statement and quipped, “Pope Francis na ‘yan o! POPE FRANCIS! O loko!”

TV host and personality Boy Abunda told in an interview with Monster RX 93.1 today, October 23, that he is delighted with the Pope’s statement although he says that they are still clarifying the context of it.

“Actually last night, there’s this documentary featuring the Pope but they are still trying to find out the context of the interview na parang sinasabi ng Santo Papa na — I’m quoting …because they are now clarifying kung ano ang konteksto,” he said.

“Magandang balita para sa akin na si Jorge Bergoglio ay nagbubukas. At least hindi na ako tinatawag bilang gay man, for example, na hindi tao, na may pangalan, may karapatan, patas. I’m equal to everyone,” Abunda shared.

“So it’s really a good news. We are evolving. I think we are becoming more human in a world where humans are supposed to inhabit. We are becoming human and I praise God.”
