Daytime karaoke is no longer allowed in Manila

In case you missed it, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso signed a new city ordinance that bans the use of karaoke, videoke, and other sound blasting device for the sake of the students who are currently practicing distance learning this school year due to the pandemic.

On October 7, the Manila mayor announced that he signed the Ordinance No. 8688 along with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Majority Floor Leader Joel Chua wherein daytime karaoke or videoke is no longer allowed during Mondays to Saturdays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

This comes after several parents complained of the noise while their children are attending online classes.

First offense will be fined P1000, second offense at P2000, and third offense at P3000.
