Because of the lockdowns imposed by the government, jeepney drivers lost their source of income as public transportation was suspended. Even with the easing of community quarantine, not all of them are allowed to operate unless they are deemed “roadworthy” as per the guidelines set by the PUV modernization program.
The kuyas we rely to bring us to our destinations took a hard hit to their livelihoods, and a lot of them need support as they are still unable to ply the roads.
