Filipino-Canadian Couple Wins Lottery Twice In Less Than A Year

Liezl Panganiban and Edgar Ebreo are one lucky couple!

These two Filipinos living in British Columbia, Canada won two major lottery prizes in less than a year, amounting to a total amount of CAD 1,175,000 (P46,500,000.) Edgar said he “started dancing” after finding out that they’ve won for the second time.

The couple first won CAD 500,000 (P19,800,000) in September 2020 after playing the “Extra” in the Lotto 6/49 Draw. “We feel really blessed and very thankful,” Liezel said.

Just less than eight months later, the couple tried their luck again, this time with a “Set for Life” ticket bought at a 7-Eleven store. Liezel told her husband the good news right away after scratching the lucky ticket. “When I saw the three cash symbols, I couldn’t believe it, so I showed Edgar,” she said.

They got an even bigger prize of CAD 675,000 (P26,700,000) with their second winning ticket.

According to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, Liezl and Edgar are planning to host a family celebration when it’s safer to hold events. They will also use the money they won to pay off their mortgage and to travel to Hawaii.
