For the first time, a whisky brand’s calendar model is a different kind of curvy

That’s right, boys, we’re saying goodbye to our internalized misogyny one small step at a time.

In a game-changing announcement on Tuesday, local liquor brand White Castle Whisky, who’s known for releasing calendars featuring sultry and sexy-clothed women, has revealed their choice for next year’s model: content creator Ryan Morales Reyes, also known as Ninong Ry on Facebook and YouTube.

The single-page calendar shows Ninong Ry fully dressed and laying on his side atop white sand (dolomite?), a parody of the “calendar girl” culture that pandered to the “macho” male population of this country.

And you bet that netizens approved of the choice. Some people even praised the brand for choosing to “break the norm” by opting out of using women as sex symbols to boost their sales, an outdated method usually practiced by alcohol brands.

It’s a “new era” indeed, and White Castle Whisky seems to be leading the charge. Now, is it too much to ask that the famous white horse join Ninong Ry in the shot too?
