How Celebrities Are Helping Those Affected by Typhoon Odette

Super Typhoon Odette made its first landfall on Thursday, December 16, which wreaked havoc in parts of Visayas and Mindanao before exiting the country on Saturday. Thousands of families were affected, with numerous areas still without shelter, power, water, or communication. To recover from the aftermath, some celebrities and online personalities have been extending help through whatever means possible.

Andi Eigenmann Helps with Typhoon Odette Victims

After returning to the island, Andi Eigenmann shared how the typhoon had damaged their home in Siargao. Proceeds from her next December vlogs on the Happy Islanders YouTube channel will be donated towards the rehabilitation of their island home. “Motindog ra ta pagbalik, Siargao,” she captioned on Instagram.

Angel Locsin

Angel Locsin is a humanitarian. She always helps people whenever she can. Certainly, the real-life Darna contributed to the relief operations by donating P2 million through the Office of the Vice President and has been reposting details of where people can cash or in-kind donations.

Kris Aquino

Despite being on vacation with fiancé Mel Sarmiento, Kris Aquino had been coordinating with friends regarding the situation in Visayas and Mindanao. The Queen of All Media revealed that she and her sons will also visit affected areas to distribute relief goods. “Hindi kailangan nasa posisyon, at hindi rin kailangan maging kandidato para tumulong sa kapwa Pilipino,” she also remarked.

Kryz Uy and Slater Young on Typhoon Odette

Online personality Kryz Uy and former PBB housemate Slater Young were among those affected by Typhoon Odette. While there weren’t significant damages to the Skypod, they’re calling for more help for their hometown of Cebu. Young also stated that his company’s factory is being used as a temporary residence for the employees.

Nadine Lustre

Meanwhile, Nadine Lustre partnered with Greenpeace Philippines to set up a solar-powered charging station for the residents of Brgy. Malinao in Siargao. Also, the singer-actress distributes relief goods. She is also sharing information about relief operations and donation drives for the victims.
