Jollibee going Mr. Worldwide: The fast-food chain opens in Liverpool and the Greater Dallas Area

The Philippines’ favorite fast-food chain Jollibee has opened in Liverpool, England, the home of the Beatles, and in West Plano, Texas, U.S.A. The one in Liverpool is the second Jollibee store in the whole of the UK and is considered as the “flagship branch in the North of England”, while the one in West Plano is the 45th store in North America but the very first one in the Greater Dallas Area.

The opening in these two areas were definitely a success. On the day of the opening, the Liverpool branch had a British blogger lining up as early as 2 AM. One would expect that Filipinos, or at least those that are already familiar to Jollibee, would be the ones entering the store, but it has been reported that 40% of the customers during the opening week were new to Jollibee.

West Plano, on the other hand, served almost 2,000 customers on its opening day despite not opening its dining area. Some people waited more than two hours in their cars as they lined up for the drive-thru.

Even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Jollibee is going strong and expanding globally.
