LOOK: In China, even miners are working from home using 5G technology

You think the WFH setup is just for white-collar workers?

One mining company in China begs to differ. With the help of 5G technology, China Molybdenum Co. Ltd. continues its mining operation at the Sandaozhuang Mine in Luanchan County in Henan Province, Central China.

In photos captured by Chinese online news agency CCTV, a miner is seen sitting inside a silo and remotely maneuvering in real-time a 5G-enabled machinery to carry out what would normally be considered heavy-duty work out in the field.

In the mining site, you would only see phantom vehicles moving about with sentience, achieving loads without an operator, which would look creepy to anyone oblivious to the capabilities of remote technology.

Can this be the future of industrial labor across the world? And could these photos mean that China is leading that charge?
