Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran took to Instagram to congratulate her niece Ysabella Roxas Ysmael for her Miss Universe Philippines 2020 stint.
Moran, who has always expressed her support for the beauty queen, shared photos of Ysmael and said: “The first runner up is my Champion.”
“You were a stand out but the purpose designed for you is greater than you can imagine,” Moran wrote.
She also quoted Matshona Dhliwayo who said, “A star does not compete with other stars around it. It just shines.” Moran concluded her post with “We love you for who you are.”
“I love you, Tita Margie. Thank you for the overflowing love, never ending support, and loving guidance,” Ysmael replied.
Aside from placing second to the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo, Ysmael also won the Best in Evening gown during the preliminary competition.
