REDEEM VOUCHERS

VinCentiments Artist ‘Mosang’ Comes Out As A Kakampink

“Gusto ko maging bahagi ng kasaysayan ng pagbabago, ng pagtindig, ng paglaban,” says the character actress.

Diwa Party List consultant Rowena Quejada publicly declared her support for presidential aspirant Leni Robredo. That she did so surprised many because she played a character called “Mosang” in several short films by VinCentiments.

VinCentiments is a production company led by filmmaker Darryl Yap and his team. Yap is a Bongbong Marcos supporter and he has collaborated with Marcos’s sister Imee. In addition to that, he has been critical of Robredo on social media.

In an exclusive interview with FreebieMNL, Quejada revealed that she voted for VP Robredo in 2016 because she respects the latter. She also admires Robredo’s determination. For instance, Robredo remains steadfast in the face of adversity.

“Sinuportahan ko siya kasi sobrang bilib ako sa determinasyon niyang tumulong sa ating mga kababayan. Hindi siya nagpaapekto kahit nababastos, ginagawang katatawanan, at binabalewala siya ng administrasyong walang respeto sa kababaihan.”

(“I supported her because I’m very impressed with her determination to help our countrymen. She’s unaffected even if this administration belittles, is rude to, and makes fun of her because it doesn’t respect women.”)

Even though there are two more shoots for VinCentiments on Quejada’s schedule and the talent fee she’ll earn will help her family, she believes money isn’t the only thing that matters. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to stick to your principles, which she did.

How Will VinCentiments React?

Quejada wants others to remember her as someone who stood up for the future of the Philippines and its people. She’s at peace with her decision because she believes her VinCentiments family will respect her sentiments.

Darryl Yap and his team are known for creating content for specific candidates. Quejada said her personal decisions have nothing to do with them.

“Ang suporta nila ay nasa kalaban pero hindi ito naging dahilan para ako ay personalin kasi anak-anakan ko sila. Matindi ang labanan, pero malinaw sa aming lahat na politika yan. May kanya-kanya tayong pamantayan sa pagpili ng kandidato, and we must respect others’ decisions. Matatapos din ang eleksyon at tayo-tayo pa din po ang magkakasama.”

(“They support her opponents, but they don’t take my decision personally because they’re like my children. Things are intense right now, but it’s clear to all of us that it’s politics. We have our criteria for choosing candidates, and we must respect others’ decisions. The elections will end soon, and we’ll all have to live with each other.”)
