At the age of 18, Olivia Rodrigo has taken the music stage and the podium at the White House. The teen pop star paid a visit to meet President Joe Biden and infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci to discuss the importance of vaccination. Tapping into her social media platform will hopefully encourage the youth to get their jab.
Press Briefing at the White House
Before meeting with President Biden and Dr. Fauci, Olivia stopped by the briefing room to make a quick speech on the importance of youth vaccination. “It’s important to have conversations with friends and family members, encouraging all communities to get vaccinated and actually get to vaccination site,” she told reporters. The singer/actress is happy to help lend her support to this initiative and is thankful to them for helping share the message.
Encouraging the Youth to Get Vaccinated
Oliva currently has 14.6 million followers on Instagram and has been topping the music charts since her song Driver’s License debuted. Part of her agenda was to meet with the U.S. President and Dr. Fauci to help boost vaccination rates among the youth. In a video recording session, she emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated, saying, “It doesn’t matter if you’re young and healthy. Getting the vaccine is about protecting yourself, your friends, and your family.”

The media couldn’t help but notice Oliva’s outfit for her White House appearance. Her pink, black, and white Chanel tweed skirt suit was modest, but still very much her style. Many First Ladies had a penchant for Chanel, so this was a smart choice. Vogue notes that she completed the look with white Giuseppe Zanotti platforms, Justine Clenquet Earrings, and a cute little Amina Muaddi purse.
With the help of her platform, the White House hopes more youth get vaccinated in the coming weeks. They’ve also reached out to other YouTube content creators, social media influencers, and celebrities to spread the message.
