Prince Philip, who would have turned 100 this June, has been battling for his health and in recent years, it has started declining. He soon stepped down from his royal duties in 2017.

Just this year, the Duke of Edinburgh was admitted in a hospital for a month ‘as a precautionary measure’ after feeling unwell. He was soon released last March 16 and at the time, the Palace announced that he was ‘feeling better.’

He will be remembered for his dedication for the Royal family by dutifully fulfilling his professional commitments, making him the Queen’s source of strength and support especially when she started reigning as the British monarch.

He is survived by his wife the Queen, four children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
