Sinulog 2023 was one for the books
After years of travel and celebration restrictions, the new year has arrived in a big way with Sinulog 2023. Aptly called “Sinulog sa Crossroads,” the three-day celebration from January 13-15 marked the grand return of the country’s favorite festivals.
Sinlog 2023 was a celebration of local flavor—in music, arts, culture and crafts.
The festivities began with a ribbon cutting at Makers’ Market with Jeaun Tolsa, Crossroads Cebu Marketing Manager. Tolsa was joined by Globe Telecom’s Patrick Gloria and Meggy Sison, who represented GOMO, the premier partner of “Sinulog sa Crossroads.”
“‘Sinulog sa Crossroads’ was a celebration of our community, culture, and traditions. It was a chance for us to unite and showcase homegrown talents and products while honoring the spirit of Sinulog in a unique and exciting way. We are thrilled to be able to provide a platform that allowed them to make an impression on our vibrant community,” shares Jeaun Tolsa, Crossroads Cebu’s Marketing Manager.
There were booths for attendees to check out and purchase, with offerings from local businesses Bastinuod, Happy Garaje, Redeemed Tattoo, Limoncello, Peligro, Doris Doodles, Havoc Cebu, Beastly, Azalea, Martian Lunchbox, Screampaints, and UP FASO.
The energy only got more palpable from there with XRoads, a gathering of the hottest local acts from Cebu. With performances from The Spirals, Coney Reyes on Camera, Cosmic Kid, Luxxx, Kubra Commanders, Hourswekeep, Awkward Dancer and the Harmless Devils, Deanery, Karma, The Pervs, Folding Bed, Alah Ahkbar, Hollywood Folk Hogan and Wanderlandbattle 2020 champion The Sundown.
As the night came to a close, Kubra Commander frontman and John Bottles Events organizer Bobbi Olvido left the audience with a message that encapsulates Sinulog 2023: “Continue to support your local music preferences.”
For Sinulog 2023 attendees that wanted to a more mellow celebration, there was the Sunset Cookout, where House DJ Libya Montes played beats as people continued to roam Makers’ Market and dine its alfresco area.
And after days of continuous rain, Sinulog 2023 closed with a clear sunset for everyone to enjoy.
“Sinulog sa Crossroads” was co-presented by PRWorks, Inc., Lila Events, and From Here Cebu. Community partners include Redeemed Tattoo, Distillery, Skin Logistics, and Koda & Co.while Wonder and Freebie Mnl served as media partners. Collaborators and sponsors were John Bottles Events, Counterflow Productions, PAWN Records, and GUINTO Event Solutions.
