The Philippines’ Miss World bet gains even more momentum heading into the pageant!
The journey of Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez to the crown is off to a good start as she secures a Top 5 spot in the Miss World’s Beauty With A Purpose challenge.
The Cebuana beauty shared the good news on her Instagram with a photo of herself during the Miss World gala charity night on Wednesday, December 15. Wearing a custom pink gown by Louis Panganiban, Tracy thanked everyone who supported her project which aims to help empower single parents.
“Philippines! We made it to the top 5 of the BWAP final round. Miss World Organization will also be coming to the Philippines to fund my project,” she wrote. “This was all just a dream and now it’s finally happening. Thank you everyone for the continuous support!!”
She then honored her late mother whom she referred to in the post as “Mama Chona,” a solo mother herself who inspired Perez’s project. “Mommy Chona, this is for you and to all the solo parents out there,” the beauty queen added.
“A few more days before the coronation night, lalaban tayo!!” She concluded her post, sealing it with a “PH” and a crown emoji.
Perez’s entry to the Beauty With A Purpose challenge is entitled “Para kay Nanay: A Single Mother’s Journey to Love” and focuses on providing single parents with health-and-wellness activities as well as livelihood training. In her feature video, Tracy recounted her experience growing up under a single mother’s care, and working with an organization in Cebu that advocates for the same.
As a result of her Top 5 placement, the Miss World Organization will fly out to the Philippines to fund her future project.
Speaking of Top 5 spots, Perez’s name has also been popping up in the pageant world as a potential frontrunner in the forthcoming Miss World 2021. The fearless forecast of Missosology, an established beauty pageant platform and an expert analyst when it comes to pageant contenders, is that Tracy would make it to the final stage of the event.
In their “Final Hot Picks” posted on their social media page, Perez placed second, alongside other top picks in Miss Venezuela, Miss Bahamas, Miss Poland, and Miss Cote D’Ivoire.
Perez is currently in Puerto Rico in preparation for the Miss World 2021 pageant but might to head back to the county soon after the pageant’s postponement. She hopes to be the second woman to secure the crown after Megan Young’s victory back in 2013.Â
