1. RUi

The official WEi fandom name is RUi! The group announced this in November 2020, just a little over a month after their debut.

It came as a surprise to some, since the name “MEi” won in their fancafe poll. However, the explanation behind its meaning made fans realize that the chosen name is the perfect fit. It was said that “RU” (in RUi) is the 16th, while “WE” (in WEi) is the 17th, among 28 constellations. This goes to show that the group sees their fans as their guiding light!

2. Mini-Albums

The group has released two EPs to date: their debut mini-album “Identity: First Sight,” and their first comeback mini-album, “Identity: Challenge.” Both have five songs each, featuring tracks such as “TWILIGHT,” “All or Nothing,” and “Diffuser.”

3. “Oui Go Up

Aside from music videos, dance covers, and live performances, did you know that you could also watch WEi in a reality/variety show? The web-based series “Oui Go Up” is now on its second season, and it stars no other than the boys of WEi. The best part? You could watch the episodes on YouTube!

4. OUIBOYS

Before they became known as WEi, the group was called “OUIBOYS” after their agency’s name (Oui Entertainment.) Daehyeon, Donghan, Yohan, and Seokhwa were the first four members to be revealed, since Yohan and Junseo only joined WEi in August 2020. You’d notice in the earlier episodes of “Oui Go Up” that only Daehyeon, Donghan, Yohan, and Seokhwa were present.

5. Life outside WEi

The boys of WEi live very interesting lives–aside from performing, there are many other things they excel in, too!

Daehyeon, who loves eating (especially Korean food and Pepero with almonds!) is a great cook. He also studies civil engineering in school and currently has four engineering certifications already!

Meanwhile, Donghan is athletic and has been into Hapkido (a Korean martial art) since he was six years old. He also likes other sports like table tennis, swimming, and basketball. Fellow member Yohan is athletic as well, and has even won Taekwondo championships before! On the other hand, Yongha prefers games that test his mind and strategy skills like Korean jacks and board games.

Even in his free time, Seokhwa loves learning new dances, especially girl group dances. One of his favorite groups is Apink and said that Eunji is his bias. Finally, Junseo, one of WEi’s lead dancers, can play piano.

We’re so excited to see more of WEi in the future! Who’s your bias in the group?
