Coco Martin’s primetime comeback and DonBelle’s first teleserye are up next!

ABS-CBN Entertainment is all set for the new year as it unveils some of its offerings for 2023, which includes seven narrative programs, two reality shows, and some TV specials. These programs were all revealed through an omnibus plug aired during the ABS-CBN Christmas Special on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

These projects, as expected, are headlined by ABS-CBN’s superstars such as Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, JM de Guzman, Lovi Poe, and Coco Martin, young stars Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, and Andrea Brillantes, as well as veteran actors like Maricel Soriano, John Arcilla, Christopher de Leon, Senator Lito Lapid, and Charo Santos-Concio.

Dirty Linen

“Dirty Linen” is a suspense-drama series headlined by Janine Gutierrez and Zanjoe Marudo, who are teaming up for the first time. “Kadenang Ginto” stars Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin are also paired for the first time as they play important roles in the series. Veteran actors Tessie Tomas, Epy Quizon, Angel Aquino, Janice de Belen, Joel Torre, and John Arcilla, as well as character actors Christian Bables, Jennica Garcia, and JC Santos are also part of the show. Golden Globes nominee Dolly de Leon even has a special participation in the Kapamilya show.

“Dirty Linen” is about a group of adults who are seeking justice and truth for the disappearance of their parents who work for a rich family. Headed by the character of Janine, the group enters the world of the rich only to discover more dirty secrets.

Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, “Dirty Linen” is helmed by Onat Diaz and Andoy Ranay and is expected to air in January 2023.

FPJ’s Batang Quiapo

Fresh from the success of the longest-running teleserye “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” Coco Martin is back with another adaptation of a classic Fernando Poe, Jr. movie, “Batang Quiapo.” A story conference and cast reveal was held early in December.

FPJ’s daughter, Lovi Poe, marks her second year as a Kapamilya as part of the series. Also part of the show are Christopher de Leon, Cherry Pie Picache, Senator Lito Lapid, John Estrada, Allan Paule, Mercedes Cabral, Pen Medina, and Charo Santos-Concio, among others. No airing date has been announced yet for this series. Recently, ABS-CBN announced that “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” is looking for a new child wonder that will follow the footsteps of Onyok, who was introduced in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

Linlang

Kim Chiu is set to return to primetime with Paulo Avelino and JM de Guzman in an infidelity-themed series titled “Linlang.” Diamond Star Maricel Soriano is also part of the show.

During the story conference of the show last October, other cast members were also introduced, such as Jaime Fabregas, Ruby Ruiz, Raymond Bagatsing, Heaven Peralejo, Anji Salvacion, Vance Larena, and “Idol Philippines” second runner-up Kice. Directors Jojo Saguin and Manny Palo promise that the events in this show produced by Dreamscape Entertainment is “first time sa lahat ng TV series sa Pilipinas.”

Can’t Buy Me Love

Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, touted as ABS-CBN’s “New Gen Phenomenal Love Team,” is set to headline their first teleserye titled “Can’t Buy Me Love.” No more details have been revealed about the show, but it marks their fourth project after the show “He’s Into Her” and the movies “Love Is Color Blind” and “An Inconvenient Love.”

Drag You and Me

Andrea Brillantes will headline Dreamscape and iWant TFC’s co-production titled “Drag You and Me.” Drag queens Precious Paula Nicole, Vinas Deluxe, and Brigiding are also starring in the series with JC Alcantara and Christian Bables.

The Voice Kids Season 5

The rumor that “The Voice” franchise was acquired by GMA-7 was finally debunked as ABS-CBN revealed that it will air another season of “The Voice Kids.” However, changes are expected for its fifth season. Bamboo remains as coach while Sarah Geronimo and Lea Salonga are not returning for the new season. Instead, KZ Tandingan and Martin Nievera are joining as coaches for the new season. The line-up of hosts is yet to be revealed.

Teen Clash

ABS-CBN and iWant TFC are also set to air the series adaptation of the novel “Teen Clash,” headlined by Jayda, Aljon Mendoza, and Markus Paterson. Andi Abaya, Kobie Brown, Ralph Malibunas, Gail Banawis, Fana, Bianca de Vera, Zach Castaneda, and Luke Alford are also part of the show with Gino Santos as the director.

Aside from these shows, ABS-CBN will also air two TV specials this year: the 60th anniversary of Vilma Santos in show business and the live airing of Miss Universe on January 15, 2023. “I Can See Your Voice” is also scheduled to return for another season while the ABS-CBN International Series “Cattleya Killer,” headlined by Arjo Atayde, will finally air on TV in 2023.

For movies, ABS-CBN Films’ first offering for 2023 is titled “Love On A Budget” starring Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon.
