Star Magic sets ablaze an event-filled 2023!
ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, Star Magic, has announced a line-up of festivities for this year, with focal events set to happen as early as May. The plans were announced with the hashtag #SaveTheDateMediaCon on Star Magic’s official YouTube page on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
After the success of the recently held Star Magical Prom, excitement seems to be in sustained momentum as the network reveals a celebratory summer event happening on May 4 called “Hot Summer LaHot Sexy.” Various stars wearing prominent fashion designers are set to dominate the runway, including Maymay Entrata, Chie Filomeno, Ria Atayde, Enchong Dee, and Jake Cuenca. The core of this event roots out from the goal of promoting body positivity and inclusivity.

This will be followed by “Star Mamagic Day” on May 10–an intimate recognition of all the celebrity moms for the annual Mother’s day special. Mom-and-kid tandems are expected to attend, such as Janella Salvador, Dimples Romana, Jolina Magdangal, and Vina Morales.
Notably, the ultimate star-studded sports slam is back with the 2023 All-Star Games set to commence on May 21. Taking place a few breaths after is the latest launch of Star Magic celebrities’ individual portfolio. The Star Magic Catalogue will be printed in limited edition copies and will be available in June. More excitingly, the end of the year is already planned with Star Magical Christmas–a year-end gathering that is said to be the most glittery get-together.
The media conference was hosted by Robi Domingo, with live guests joining in the announcement, such as “Dirty Linen”star Elisse Joson, actress Ria Atayde former child star Xyriel Manabat, Mikha of girl group BINI, and BGYO members Mikki, Akira, and JL.
The network’s big bosses were also present at the event, which includes Star Magic digital head Love Capulong and business unit heads Direk Riley Santiago and Raymund Dizon.
What is the goal in lining up more events this year for Star Magic?
Santiago says, “We crafted more events for Star Magic artists to zero in yung mga strengths ng ating artists ‘no. Kasi sa ball, we featured all our network stars but last prom, we featured the younger batch. So, nakita ng ating mga kapamilya yung roster of talents natin, the up-and-coming stars of Star Magic.”
“We’re sort of crafting the events na bumabagay din sa artists natin… and like, inilalapit natin ítong mga stars natin sa ating mga fans now that we’re opening up sa live events,” he adds.
Capulong reaffirms by saying that the goal behind is “bringing our stars closer to our audience now,” then proceeding to how the COVID-19 crisis has taken two long years from the network.
