What’s Next For Aljon Mendoza and Jayda After “Teen Clash?”

Will Aljon Mendoza and Jayda still be paired in their next project?

ABS-CBN and Rise artists Aljon Mendoza and Jayda will surely miss their “clash-mates” as their digital series, “Teen Clash,” ended its run in May 2023.

The project, which aired for 10 episodes on iWant TFC, marked their first team-up together. It was also Aljon’s first lead role and Jayda’s first teleserye.

Prior to this, Aljon was known as the other half of the KarJon love team with fellow “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso” housemate Karina Bautista.

Jayda, on the other hand, is best known for her music, following the footsteps of her parents Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado.

During the finale press conference of “Teen Clash” on May 24, FreebieMNL asked Jayda and Aljon about what’s next for them as a love team as the series comes to an end. As of now, the AlJay does not have a follow-up project yet.

Jayda answers, “Well, I say really that expect the unexpected. That’s all I’ll probably say for now.” However, Jayda teases that she will be releasing new music soon.

She continues, “In terms of being an individual though, I’ll probably say that expect new music very very soon.

Gaya po ng sinasabi ko, this new music coming from me is really honest…I guess it’s some of my most honest work and dito niyo talaga makikita kung sino talaga si Jayda with my new song.

“I’m just very proud of the body of work that I’m about to put out very very soon, and I know that a lot of my fans and people have been asking me, ‘When are you gonna go back to music?’

“Honestly, I can say, I never stopped. I’ve been working on it all this time. It’s just that, meron na akong dalawang bagong passions na I’m so grateful that I get to be able to do what I love for a career.”

This means that Jayda is still looking forward to what would be her follow-up project in terms of acting.

She says that the follow-up project can be a venue for her to showcase everything she has learned while doing “Teen Clash.”

Jayda explains, “I would say that my door is open to acting, definitely. With the right project coming along, I think now, I feel all the more confident to take on more projects. “Kasi, you know, this project was also one of the things like it was also a confidence booster to me in terms of, siyempre po kasi, this would be my first project, meron din po akong mga thoughts sa sarili ko noon na,Kaya ko ba talaga ‘to?’

“But now, having all of the knowledge and knowing that I have so much more to learn, mas lalo akong ginaganahang makagawa ng more acting projects.”

Aljon also has something to say about Jayda’s music.

He tells the press, “Doon sa music ni Jayda, ipinarinig niya sa ‘kin yung, basta madami, napakaganda po talaga.

Napaka-talented niya, e. Sinulat niya yung mga yun, ang ganda ng mga songs.”

He then tells Jayda, “Good luck sa music mo, ang ganda!”

After “Teen Clash” come Aljon’s hosting and studies

As for Aljon, he currently has his show on PIE Channel, “Pak Na Pak,” which airs every afternoon.

But he is now waiting for his next project after “Teen Clash.”

He shares, “May ipinitch po sa akin ang Rise na project pero bawal ko pong sabihin, so, nasa process pa.”

But what Aljon really wants to focus on right now is his studies. It was just recently when he decided to go back to school after getting a scholarship from Boy Abunda at the Philippine Women’s University.

He makes it a point to really attend face-to-face classes to be able to experience being a student despite his showbiz commitments.

Aljon shares, “Madalas po talaga, pumapasok ako sa school kasi ayokong sayangin yung chance. Kasi isa din sa mga factors kung bakit ako bumalik ay kasi gusto ko rin ma-experience.

Naniniwala ako kasing magkakaroon ako ng bagong point of view in life, na bukod sa trabaho, meron pang ibang mundo outside showbiz. Gusto kong makita yun.
