Bea: “That’s false. Hindi ako ang nakipag-break”
Bea Alonzo has set the record straight revealing that she did not initiate her separation from ex-fiancé Dominic Roque.
The 36-year-old Sparkle actress bares all about the issue in an interview with Nelson Canlas for GMA Integrated News—including how the false narratives about their breakup have affected her.
When Nelson brings up that Bea might have had it harder since she’s the one to call it quits, Bea responds with, “Actually, that’s false. That’s false. Hindi ako ang nakipag-break.”
When pressed about it further, Bea says she doesn’t want to elaborate on it anymore out of respect. She says, “Pero huwag na nating pag-usapan yun. Let’s leave it in the past. It’s amicable. Okay naman kami.
“I think it will be disrespectful to the relationship and to the other person to talk about it. It’s a very sensitive topic, and gusto kong bigyan ng respeto at gusto kong iwan sa magandang paraan what we had.”

Before this, Bea emphasizes that these allegations had held a grip on her emotions—pointing to the people who seemingly knows her life more than she knows it herself.
She says, “Doon ako siguro mas naapektuhan kasi maraming nag-spread ng false narrative about my life.
“And when you’re going through something really difficult in your life, and you have other people narrating it for you in a different way, very different the way you see it, and very different from the truth, sobrang sakit niya.”
“Kasi, yes, it affects you because it’s one thing to go through something silently, like a very, very huge heartbreak. But it’s another thing to be going through it in front of the public na iba yung narrative.”
Bea and Dominic’s separation was hounded by tittle-tattle, one of which includes Bea’s dissatisfaction over Dominic’s financial capability that prompted them to go their separate ways.

Bea and Dominic shocked the netizens on February 11, 2024, after announcing that they called off their engagement and confirming that they have gone their separate ways. This came months had had their engagement at the Las Casas Filipinas de Azucar on July 18, 2023.
Their joint statement reads, “After much thought, consideration, and care, we have mutually decided to amicably end our engagement. It was not an easy decision. We wanted to have more time to carefully deliberate and pray about it, but there have been many speculations, questions, and insults.
“Unfortunately, some even confirmed our breakup without our consent, and some created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false, so we felt the need to share this announcement with great sadness, for our peace of mind and our families.”
It can be recalled that Boy Abunda initially announced Bea and Dominic’s split through his program “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on February 6, 2024.
