Are Popoy and Basha back?
Bea Alonzo recently revealed that she will star in a reunion film with John Lloyd Cruz. Star Cinema will produce the film, which stars one of the Philippines’ most successful love teams.
According to ABS-CBN, it was at a recent media conference when Alonzo said that Cathy Garcia-Molina will direct the next film. She directed the pair’s most popular movies, including “One More Chance” and “Miss You Like Crazy.” Some other films directed by Molina are “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” “A Very Special Love,” and “The Hows Of Us.”
The crew that worked on “One More Chance” will also produce the upcoming film. The 35-year-old actress also shares that Carmi Raymundo is writing the script based on an idea from Enrico Santos.
Cruz revealed his wish to work with Alonzo again in a recent interview with GMA’s “24 Oras.” He said that he had only been waiting for Alonzo’s cue to get back in front of the camera.
“Ang tagal niya na nga eh. Ang tagal na po akong naka-standby Miss Bea…Waiting lang po, any time po on your cue,” LLoyd said.
John Lloyd has been working on the sitcom ‘”Happy ToGetHer,” which is now on hiatus. Meanwhile, Bea is currently playing a lead role in “Start-Up PH.”
Bea reveals in “Updated With Nelson Canlas” that they have many plans for her and JLC’s on-screen comeback. Fans will be glad to hear that their plans include more than films.
Cruz and Alonzo last appeared in a project in 2015 in the Cathy Garcia-Molina-directed film “A Second Chance.”
