After eight long years, the boys are making a big-time comeback with two special performances this year.

On Tuesday, pop boy band Big Time Rush surprised social media with the announcement that they will reunite on stage after their eight-year hiatus for a couple of shows in North America by the end of the year.

“WE ARE BACK!” the band’s official Twitter account tweeted along with details of their upcoming reunion shows and a short wacky video that checked in on how all four members of the group are currently doing.

“The people of the world are ready for a comeback of epic proportions,” a dramatic voiceover announces while catching up with the boys one by one.

Kendall Schmidt, who’s seen hiking in the woods, talked back to the voiceover who called him “Kendall Knight,” saying that “whoever you are, that’s a character I played on a television years ago.” The voiceover then replied: “Whatever.”

Then the voiceover moves to James Maslow, whom it called “Bandana Man” and praised as “looking good even after all this years.”

Carlos PenaVega, whom the voiceover acknowledges as “The Wild Child,” is happily playing with his kids before the voiceover teases him by asking where his signature helmet is. “Is that God?” one of his kids asks.

And lastly, the voiceover looks at Logan Henderson, whom it mocked as “still finishing his Ph.D,” since he’s the smart one in the Nickelodeon sitcom where the group starred.

“Together, these four men will once again live it big time,” the voiceover then says, before trying to sing the opening notes of the Big Time Rush theme song.

Originating from the Nickelodeon comedy show of the same name that ran from 2009 to 2013, Big Time Rush last delighted fans with a digital reunion in June 2020 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their hit song “Worldwide.”

The group burst into the scene with popular hits such as “Boyfriend,” “Windows Down,” and “Til I Forget About You.” While starring in their own sitcom, Big Time Rush also managed to release three albums: BTR in 2010, Elevate in 2011, and 24/Seven in 2013.

Having gone into a hiatus since 2014, the group’s comeback understandably left fans into a frenzy.
