The New Miss International Philippines 2023 is Angelica Lopez!
The Binibining Pilipinas 2023 queens have been crowned!
The Binibining Pilipinas 2023 grand coronation night was held at Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Binibini 6 Angelica Lopez of Palawan emerged as the new Binibining Pilipinas International—the highest title at stake.
Angelica was crowned along with Bataan’s bet Anna Valencia Lakrini who landed as the Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2023. The runner-up finishers are Davao Del Sur’s Katrina Anne Johnson (First runner-up) and Atasha Reign Parani of General Trias, Cavite (2nd runner-up).
The palawan bet stood supreme among 39 delegates, ultimately clinching the title from successor Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 Nicole Borromeo. She is now set to compete in the 2024 edition of Japan-hosted beauty pageant, Miss International.
Other Binibining Pilipinas 2023 special and major awards
The organization has also handed sponsor awards, which include:
Miss Jag Jeans: Anna Valencia Lakrini (Bataan)
Miss Philippine Airlines: Trisha Martinez (Laguna)
The Face of Ever Bilena: Trisha Martinez (Laguna)
Manila Bulletin Readers’ Choice Award: Sharmaine Magdasoc (Pasig City)
Binibining BingoPlus: Lorraine Jara (Bulacan)
Binibining Friendship: Mary Chiles Balana (Hermosa, Bataan)
Binibining Talent: Candy Vollinger (Catanduanes)
The Face Of Binibini: Julia Mae Mendoza (Capiz)
On top of the special awards, major awards were given during the competition. These are:
Best in Swimwear: Anna Valencia Lakrini (Bataan)
Best in Evening Gown: Trisha Martinez (Laguna)
Best in National Costume: Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano (Albay)
Only eleven delegates made it to the final cut, with Bulacan’s Loraine Jara securing the 11th spot as the pre-selected sponsor’s choice from BingoPlus.
The culmination of the show has seen only two crowns being bequeathed—lesser than last year’s five. Such is from the acquired Miss Intercontinental franchise that is now owned by another pageant organization Mutya ng Pilipinas. Miss Grand International, on the other hand, was dropped by Binibining Pilipinas.
Former titleholders Catriona Gray, Nicole Cordoves, and MJ Lastimosa hosted the grand coronation night, with Vice Ganda, Darren Espanto, and ALAMAT hyping up the audience with their performance. More so, the current Miss International 2022 Jasmin Selberg sits as a special guest and one of the judges for the competition.
