Electronic Arts (EA) has teamed up with multi-hyphenate Bretman Rock for the “Find Yourselves” campaign, and it’s wildly entertaining.
The Sims allows players to discover and express themselves however they want to with the characters they create and explore a simulated life without limitations. In the “Find Yourselves” campaign, Bretman uses the game as a self-discovery tool to create five different personas of himself and places them all in one unconventional household.
A Myriad of Bretmans
Players encounter five different versions of Bretman Rock in the fictional world — a dramatic goth, an urban cowboy, a nurturing chef, a boomer dad, and an astronaut. Considering what a baddie he is in real life, it’s no surprise he would take on many more wonderous roles in-game. At this point, he’s unstoppable.
Self-Discovery and Empowerment Through Gaming
“Being Da Baddest didn’t always come naturally,” Bretman revealed. “Like most people growing up, I needed creative outlets to discover all the different sides of myself that I am now, and I know I’m not done yet.” He added that this partnership with The Sims encourages everyone to discover and embrace who they truly are, and he’s excited to learn about how this game empowers other people.
Be Who You Want to be in The Sims
The Sims Head of Brand Julia Victor shares that Bretman was the perfect person for this campaign because he has always advocated for people to be true to themselves. “We hope to encourage players to celebrate that coming-of-age chaos that creates defining moments and new opportunities, inspiring them to discover the many different sides of themselves — both in The Sims and in real life.”
Apart from the campaign, The Sims is inviting players to find their #SimSelves on TikTok this month. Through the Branded Effect customizable filter, users get to try on several Sims-inspired personalities using augmented reality.
