Is there a competition between Carren Eistrup and Ryzza Mae Dizon?
Carren Eistrup is the newest addition to the growing family of “Eat Bulaga!”
Eistrup is the winner of the noontime show’s segment “Bida Next,” where she bested other contestants with her singing prowess. What impressed her fans was her strong vocals at 14 years old.
Part of her prize are PHP500,000 in cash and a brand new Next Gen Ford Ranger. She also won a one million peso-worth contract with “Eat Bulaga!”
In a recent press conference after winning the competition, Eistrup shared her experience with the “Eat Bulaga!” family.
During the presscon, she admits that she got nervous at first and pressured herself with the stint. She recalls, “Noong first day ko sa ‘Eat Bulaga,’ umiyak po ako sa dressing room kasi I was disappointed in myself kasi feeling ko I didn’t do great. Feeling ko kasi hindi ko naipasa yung expectations ng mga tao.”
However, “Eat Bulaga!” and Eistrup’s management, Merlion Entertainment, continue to help her in her journey. Eistrup shares, “They told me na panoorin ko yung sarili ko sa TV para malaman mo kung saan yung mga mali ko and kung saan yung dapat ma-improve. But it was my first day, so, accepted naman. Dapat masanay na ako sa flow nila. Gusto ko talagang matuto sa ‘Eat Bulaga!’ tulad sa hosting. Sobrang ad lib po talaga nila, as in.”

Carren Eistrup’s experience with Dabarkads
Eistrup truly enjoys her time working with the “Eat Bulaga!” dabarkads, particularly with its big stars Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
She will never forget one of her first experiences as a dabarkad: “May separate room kasi yung mga mismong hosts ng ‘Eat Bulaga!’ Since official na akong dabarkad, kung makaupo raw po ako doon sa mismong dining table ng mga hosts, I belong na raw po ako as part of the ‘EB’ family. So, napaupo na po nila ako roon tapos kumain ako.”
Among these stars, she was most starstruck with Maja Salvador. She reasons: “Galing niya kasi sumayaw and she’s also very funny, as in. Kung ano yung nakikita niyo sa camera, ganun din siya, as in!”
In fact, Eistrup has also shared moments with Salvador on the set of “Eat Bulaga!” She shares: “Nag-chika kami about everything kasi naghintay kami sa gilid and I asked din. There’s also one time na nag-ask din ako sa kanya and whenever they go out kung napapansin sila, what do they do kasi they’re very famous. And I asked kung lumalabas pa rin ba sila sa mga mall, ganyan. And they said, same lang din po, nagpa-picture lang din po sila.”
But of course, working with veterans also puts pressure on Eistrup. “Pressured po talaga ako kasi ang gagaling na ng mga kasama ko. Matagal na po sila sa ‘Eat Bulaga!,'” she admits. “I’m still adjusting and I think I’m doing better naman po every day. I’m open naman for improvements.”
Competition with Ryzza Mae Dizon
During the presscon, Eistrup was also asked about her co-host Ryzza Mae Dizon. Being of almost the same age bracket and both coming from “Eat Bulaga!” competitions, people have been comparing them.
However, Eistrup doesn’t seem to mind this. In fact, when a reporter jokingly asked if Dizon was snubbing her, she was surprised and answered, “Hindi naman po kasi sobrang friendly niya.”
She then laughed upon realizing that it was only a joke. She adds, “Alam ko naman na mabait si Ryzza, e. Ayaw nga niyang tawagin ko siyang ate. But she’s older than me, gusto ko rin po i-respect, siyempre.”
In fact, the two of them acts as a tandem in most of their stints. Eistrup says, “Si Ate Ryzza kasi, siya yung palaging katabi ko sa gilid, e. So, kung saan siya pumunta, punta rin ako. Para kaming mag-partner sa ‘Eat Bulaga!’So, kapag hosting, parang kami yung magka-team. Kami palagi ang magkasama sa camera.”
