Dingdong Dantes Breaks Silence On Rumored Child With Lindsay De Vera

Dingdong’s love for Marian and kids is what prompted him to dispel the ongoing rumor

Dingdong Dantes says there’s no truth behind the long-running rumor about his alleged love child with actress Lindsay De Vera.

The 43-year-old actor has finally broken his silence on the matter during his guest appearance in GMA-7’s “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

Wala po. Hindi po totoo,” Dingdong responds when Boy directly asks, “Lumabas na ang balitang ito, nasa social media, ikaw ay may anak kay Lindsay De Vera?”

Aware of the online tittle-tattle, Dingdong then says he was having second thoughts if he should talk about the controversy prior to his guesting. However, his familial obligation has prompted him to speak up.

He says, “Sa totoo lang, nagdadalawang-isip talaga ako kagabi kung may sasabihin ba ako about the topic and the issue, kasi alam kong baka tanungin ninyo, e.

More than that, Dingdong deems his family’s feelings at the forefront of it, and that he feels the need to dispel the allegation mainly for his wife Marian Rivera and kids Zia and Ziggy.

He says, “I have a responsibility sa aking pamilya to clear things like this. I love my wife, I love my family very much, my kids. That’s why I’m saying that it is not true. Sa totoo lang, noong una pinagtatawanan lang naman namin ‘to, kami ni Marian.”

“Pero dumating na nga rin sa punto na marami nang nakakapanood [in social media]. Siyempre, natural lang din na may magtatanong sa akin. Kaya, yeah, once and for all, I’m clarifying na hindi siya totoo.”

Dingdong and Lindsay co-starred in GMA-7’s primetime series “Pari Koy” in 2015 and “Alyas Robin Hood” which ran from 2016 to 2017.

Years after their projects, reports of their alleged love child started making the center of the public discourse, with Lindsay persistently denying the rumors and threatening to file a case against anyone who will spread malicious information.

As for Dingdong, he does not know how the rumor started and why it has been catching steam even until now. What keeps him at peace, however, is the fact that he has finally clarified it for the sake of his family.

“I think, I’m okay that I clear it because kailangan po talaga dahil mahal ko ang pamilya ko, kailangan na maging klaro yung mga bagay na ganito.”

Persistent as rumors can be, Lindsay has learned over time to take them very lightly. While she holds it seriously, she says that she only laughed it off with her boyfriend Kurt Kendrick when the news broke out.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph in 2022, Lindsay says, “I was with Kurt na when it came out. So, kaming dalawa, we were laughing, and he actually commented on the post, and sabi niya, ‘Grabe, naunahan pa ako ha!’”

All things considered, Lindsay assumes that the issue derives from the hasty assumption of netizens—at a time when a blind item of a “famous person” and a “young star” was quickly associated with her and Dingdong.
