Enrique to Liza: “I’ll always have your back no matter what”
On the evening of Liza’s birthday, the 31-year-old actor surprised the LizQuen fans through Instagram stories by uploading a photo of them together and writing a short message.
In the published photo, both Enrique and Liza can be seen pouting for a cute shot, while the caption reads: “Happy Birthday our dear hopie!!!
“I’ll always have your back no matter what. Wish I was there to celebrate your special day [white heart emoji].”
Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano’s breakup
This has been the first time Enrique had posted anything about Liza in a while—in fact, it was the first time he did so after news of their breakup broke across.
News of their separation has been circulating for quite some time now, but no statements were issued by both parties.
The actor first denied their split in an interview with ABS-CBN News in April 2023. Addressing the circulating rumor back then, Enrique dismissed the issue with, “We’re good, we’re good.
“She’s just really busy with her stuff there. I am going to be visiting her maybe when my schedule clears up. I think she’s coming back here. But yeah, we’re good.
“Because Hope is in the U.S., she is doing her own thing which I am going to support no matter what. I love her to death”
At that time, Liza was in the United States in pursuit of expanding her international career. She was able to land a role in the American horror-comedy film “Lisa Frankenstein” set to premiere in 2024.
Liza, for her part, has been mum over her speculated breakup with Enrique, until a PEP.ph report—an unreleased interview from March 2023—made it to the surface and revealed that the two had broken up in October 2022.
Enrique and Liza—together known as LizQuen—established their love team after the successful run of ABS-CBN’s “Forevermore” in 2014.
In the ensuing years, they consistently banner notable television series under the Kapamilya Network including, “Dolce Amore,” Bagani,” and Make It With You.”
