REDEEM VOUCHERS

“I am back, baby!”

After a three-year acting hiatus, actor Enrique Gil has been reprised as a Kapamiya as he signed an exclusive two-year contract with ABS-CBN on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. It has been his home network for almost 15 years.

During the “re-inking” of his contract with ABS-CBN network, an elated Gil announced his comeback with appreciation. “Maraming maraming salamat, guys, for this very warm welcome. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you guys so much. I am back, baby! Here we go,” says Gil.

With films and series planned out for him, the 31-year-old actor also teases his career vision. According to him, he is “really excited” about “starting a new path” as this is something that he has never done in the past. Just as much, he implores that fans keep tabs on his career trajectory.

During his speech, Gil extends his regard to the big bosses of the network, emphasizing that he has nothing but joy that he is finally “back home.” He says, “I’m missing all these faces, it’s been a long time. …Thank you guys so much. I love you all,” Gil adds.

Gracing the event are some of the heads of the network, including ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, and COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes.

An excited Vidanes could not help but praise the lord for the long-awaited comeback. She says that she “looks forward to this” while assuring that other Kapamilyas are happy to see Gil back in the network.

What’s next for Enrique Gil?

Gil’s talent manager Ranvel Rufino has also graced the event, sharing some of the plans for the actor. Rufino reinstates Gil’s willingness to take on “new roles” and “new challenges.” But above all, comfort is their priority.

Questions about “rebranding” has also made it to the discourse, in which a direct Rufino states: “Not because of me but because of him and probably his experience and years in the business, yes, there will be a rebranding,” pointing at the first project that Gil will soon undertake.

Gil’s contract renewal came after three years without a project. The actor last headlined the ABS-CBN teleserye “Make It With You,” which was then halted as the coronavirus crisis instigated major restrictions in 2020.
