Comprised of Trevor Dering and Val Fritz, Fiji Blue’s origin story begins in Boston. They met at the Berklee School of Music and bonded over their shared love of music. But it took a little longer before they became a band.

The band took shape once they packed up and moved across the country to Los Angeles. It was there that they shaped the Fiji Blue sound their fans know and love. Fritz started producing, while Trevor played guitar and sang. After honing their craft and recording new music, they took things to the next level. They released the single “Indigo” in November 2018.

This duo dubs their sound as “sad boy chill house.” Their latest album I Love You, What Happened? dropped on August 19. Sound-wise, their lyrics are sad yet hopeful. They strive to give listeners the perfect OST to their lives with atmospheric music.

When it comes to musical influences, Dering says he looks to John Mayer and Stevie Ray Vaughan. His goal is to tell stories in his songs.
