Hacker Leaks ‘GTA 6’ Gameplay, Rockstar Games Reacts

This may delay the highly-anticipated game.

GTAForums user “teapotuberhacker” posted unreleased footage from GTA 6 over the weekend. It showed burglaries, shootings, open-world driving, and a look at the game’s strip club.

Based on the unfinished gameplay, GTA 6 is set in Miami (Vice City). The leaks also confirmed there will be male and female playable characters. In one of the videos, we see the two work together on a mission.

According to the previous leak, the game has been in production since 2014. “Project Americas” is the working title used by Rockstar Games. Some files displayed a version operating on a PlayStation 4 dev kit, which might be several years old. Regardless of their authenticity, they support the general information from earlier leaks. This suggests that the game won’t be ready until at least 2025.

Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier recently confirmed the authenticity of the leaks. “I’ve confirmed with Rockstar that this weekend’s massive Grand Theft Auto 6 leak is real. The footage is early and unfinished, of course. This is one of the biggest leaks in video game history and a nightmare for Rockstar Games,” Jason said.

Meanwhile, the hacker posted their contact information in a recent update on the fan site. They want someone from Rockstar Games to “negotiate a contract” with them.

The hacker claimed they “could leak more data soon.” They claim to be in possession of source codes, assets, and testing builds from GTA 5 and GTA 6.

Further leaks would be a massive setback for Rockstar Games. Putting the source codes in the wrong hands will make both games vulnerable to hacks. Yikes!
