Popcap Games That Makes Us Feel Nostalgic

Do you miss the days when you would start up your home computer just to play computer games? Looking back at those simpler times makes us feel nostalgic. Before Netflix and social media, we had games like Bookworm and Zuma to keep us preoccupied.

Bookworm (2003)

Bookworm is like Boggle, in the sense that you had to form words by connecting available letters on the grid. What made it more challenging was having to use up the special tiles before they ruin your chances of winning.  This single-player puzzle video game helped us improve our vocabulary.

Diner Dash (2003)

In this restaurant management game, players had to help Flo run the diner. But satisfying customers isn’t easy when you have to take care of both food and service. It’s a fast-paced game that requires a lot of attention to detail to get their orders right. The game was so popular it had several installments.

Feeding Frenzy (2004)

There isn’t much strategy needed to play this game. All you have to do is eat the smaller fish and grow, else get eaten by a bigger fish and end the round. The graphics are similar to Finding Nemo with fun cartoon animations and were very kid-friendly.

Mystery Case Files: Huntsville (2005)

Mystery Case Files: Huntsville was the first of many installments of this crime-solving game. The objective of the game is to find the “hidden objects” to progress through the game and solve the mystery. You’ll be determined to find all the objects that you won’t notice how fast time flies while playing.

Plants vs Zombies (2009)

Even today’s generation is familiar with Plants vs Zombies as they have made their way to the App Store. This game isn’t as chill as the graphics make it seem as you’ll need to think fast and plant faster to stop the zombies from crossing your lawn. Wouldn’t it be cool if we could zap zombies with plants in real life, too?

Zuma (2003)

Zuma is an action-packed arcade game that had us spending hours on the computer. This isn’t your typical shooting game because you’re firing balls instead of bullets. Controlling the frog on the screen, you need to dissipate the string of colored balls before it reaches the hole.
